Our roots run deep in the hills of Hawkins County, Tennessee.
The Appalachian Homesteaders Association (AHA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving families across Hawkins County, Tennessee. Membership is growing as more people in our community discover the value of traditional skills, local food systems, and neighbor-to-neighbor support.
We hold monthly meetings, seasonal workshops, and community skill-sharing events. Our members trade goods and services, share seeds and knowledge, and work together toward greater self-sufficiency.
AHA is proudly volunteer-led and community-funded. We believe that traditional homesteading skills — preserving food, growing gardens, raising animals, fermenting, building, and foraging — are not relics of the past but essential tools for a resilient future.
